The short version
- The calculators run in your browser. The numbers you type are not sent to us and are not saved.
- There are no accounts, sign-up forms or newsletters.
- The site shows, or may show, advertising from Google AdSense, which uses cookies.
- Some links on the gear page are affiliate links.
Calculator inputs
Every calculation is done by a script running on your own device. Capacity, wattage, fuel and other figures you enter never leave your browser, and they are cleared when you close or reload the page.
Hosting and server logs
The site is hosted on Cloudflare. Like any web host, Cloudflare processes technical information needed to deliver pages and protect the site from abuse, such as your IP address, browser type and the page requested. We do not use this to identify individual visitors.
Fonts
Page fonts are loaded from Google Fonts. When your browser requests them, Google receives your IP address and browser details, as it would for any web request.
Advertising
PowerOutageKit uses, or intends to use, Google AdSense to display advertisements.

Affiliate links
The gear page links to retailers including Amazon. When you follow one of those links, the retailer may set its own cookies and may record that you arrived from this site. What you do on the retailer's site is covered by its own privacy policy.
If you write to contact@poweroutagekit.com, your message and address are kept only for as long as needed to reply and to keep a record of corrections. They are not added to any mailing list or shared.
Children
The site is intended for adults planning for their households and does not knowingly collect information from children.
Your choices
